Family History from the Italian Kitchen Tony Suglia was born in Italy, where he learned Old World family-style cooking as a child at his mother’s side, a baker by trade. Tony’s grandfather also came from the food industry, owning a flour mill. As a teenager, Tony moved to the United States. But he never lost his love for authentic, fresh pasta with mouthwatering, made-from-scratch sauces.
Denise Suglia is an Ohio native with Italian roots. In fact, more than a century ago, one of her ancestors developed a pasta-making machine. A modern version of this invention is used today at Cibo Pasta & Grille. Denise’s specialty is crispy, delicate pizzelles: lacy European cookies offered as just the right finish to your Cibo experience.
Tony and Denise, along with their five daughters, opened Cibo Pasta & Grille as a way to share their passion for fresh Italian food with casual and on-the-go diners. “Cibo” simply means “food” in Italian: appropriate for a restaurant where you can watch your meal be prepared right in front of you. |

How It’s Done |

|
Fresh Pasta made Right The fresh pasta is offered with a variety of different sauces, ranging from a simple garlic and oil (aglio olio) to a meaty Bolognese. The marinara sauce is prepared daily, made with Italian pear tomatoes, sautéed onions, garlic and extra virgin olive oil. Whole wheat pasta is offered, as well as the traditional semolina flour pasta. Salads are available, along with sub sandwiches featuring meatballs, sausage or chicken. Service is quick, as you order your pasta and choose the sauce, meats and vegetables to complement your meal. It is prepared right in front of you. |
